You only fail if you give up

The hardest thing about this whole life changing project, this whole new way of living, has been consistency. Our poor eating habits--my smoking habit--have developed over years. The progression from 6 pack abs (yes, yes I had them.) to a belly swollen like a hornet’s ass took years. It is my hope that with measurable goals it will take much less time to reduce back my former svelte self.
Keeping this in mind Anita and I have started a running program. The key here is measurable, realistic and sane.

Don’t imagine yourself as you were or want to be, remember patience, a slow pace, taking into account your current athletic ability. This quote from Confucius sums it up best: “It does not matter how slow you go so long as you do not stop.”
